Audrey Hepburn Movies
The ever classic and always wonderful movies of Audrey Hepburn continue to stand the test of time. Starting out as fresh faced Sabrina
Fairchild in the film Sabrina and moving on to such memorable performances as Natasha Rostova in War and Peace and Holly Golightly in
Breakfast at Tiffany's, Audrey Hepburn has enchanted us all. The movie posters that went along
in promotion of these various films are equally as classic as the films and stars themselves.
For the nostalgic in us, many Audrey Hepburn movie posters allow us to travel back in time
and recapture those Hollywood Golden years. Other Audrey Hepburn movie posters allow us to
see the art influences of the time, such as the images from Funny Face. The images of Audrey
Hepburn and her many charmingly handsome co-stars such as Gregory Peck, Rex Harrison and
Henry Fonda adorn the movie posters so gracefully, it is easy to fall in love with the prints. In her
lifetime, Audrey Hepburn appeared in over 20 films gaining several nominations for the Golden
Globes and the Academy Awards. As one of the most loved actresses of her time her legacy of
movies has been integrated into the American soul. Breakfast at Tiffany's has inspired people
across the board and around the world. Breakfast at Tiffany's has had immeasurable pop
culture references including inspiring and being the subject of the title of songs, band names,
parodies of the various scenes, and countless mentions to Holly Golightly in scripted television
shows, movies and other productions. Even another film of Hepburn's Paris When it Sizzles
referenced directly to Breakfast at Tiffany's. As Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany's Audrey
Hepburn is seen holding a cigarette holder. This simple act and prop has become iconic and one of the most recognizable images in the
world. Well before Audrey Hepburn was making us envy her fashion sense she was enchanting us as Princess Ann in Roman Holiday starring
opposite Gregory Peck. This is the movie that introduced Audrey Hepburn to America and we were hooked instantly. Princess Ann, wishing for
a life outside of her royal duties ventures out into Rome on her own and happens upon Joe Bradley, portrayed by Gregory Peck. A short but
whirlwind romance occurs between the two but, can not continue due to Princess Ann's position in life. The pair captivated audiences and
became one of the great Hollywood love stories. Included in 2002 in AFI's list of 100 years...100 Passions, Roman Holiday appeared at
number 4 on the list also included on the list was My Fair Lady at number 12 and Breakfast at Tiffany's at number 61. My Fair Lady paired
Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison as a bit of an odd couple in character. She portrayed Eliza Doolittle, an unkempt but sweet hearted flower
seller from the slums of London and Harrison played Henry Higgins, a condescending and irritable professor of phonetics. Through a rousing
bet with an associate of Higgins, he agrees to take Doolittle under his wing and transform her into a proper member of society. Higgins indeed
transforms Doolittle but during the tumultuous transformation tempers flair and Doolittle leaves. It is not until this happens that Higgins
realizes that he's "grown accustomed to her face" and in this moment it dawns on him, he's fallen in love with her. Doolittle eventually does
return and is presumed at the end that they will indeed have an everlasting romance. Audrey Hepburn gave us many movies and showed us
the many facets of love. Audrey Hepburn's movies and Audrey Hepburn's images from those movies are indeed Americana Classics.
